About myself
- I'm OOSHIDA Takeshi, a physicist.
Please note that OOSHIDA (pronounce "Oh-she-dah") is my family name.
- Born in Morioka, on 1970-09-03 (Sept. 3).
- I studied fluid physics at
Toh lab (formerly Kawahara lab) in Kyoto.
Now I'm working at Onishi lab,
Dept. Appl. Math. & Phys., Tottori Uniersity,
since 1997.
- Doctor of Science at
Kyoto University (2000-03-23).
- My current topic concerns wave motions in viscous fluid.
Some information in Japanese is available
at the page on my works.
As for English papers, see below.
What I'm interested in
- A minimal model of fluidized beds,
capable of describing 2-dimensional bubbling.
- The role of the inertia term in film flows,
from the viewpoint of the reduction of dynamics.
- Flows due to evaporation with a finite speed,
for which I'm looking for a better model
beyond the scope of molecular gas dynamics theory.
- I have always been interested in approximations.
In fact, approximations constitute
one of the most fundamental concepts in mathematical physics.
Recently my favorite is "Pade' approximation"
which have led me to the idea of
regularized long-wave expansion method.
- I'm interested not only in physics but also in languages.
My first language is Japanese (with some influence of
the Tohoku variant and the Kansai variant),
the second one is Esperanto,
and English comes only the third.
I can speak French, Korean, German and Russian just a little.
